This morning, I was waiting for the sun to rise at Angkor Wat, the well known ancient temple in Cambodia near Siem Reap. Such a surprise it was to see these waterlilies lit up by the golden morning sun. 

This image of the waterlily taken in front of Angkor Wat in Cambodia, drew my attention as it was so exquisitely lit up by the sun. 

Years ago, while visiting Bali, Indonesia, I had the good fortune to be near a pond of fully blooming lotuses.  I have always loved these exotic flowers particularly because they are a symbol of awakening.  

The pristine beauty of this waterlily which was on a pond in Newfoundland, eastern Canada, speaks to me of the potential of each of us awakening into the fullness of who we are.

As the clouds opened up and the sun shone through on this lily pond in Fogo Island, Newfoundland, it was as though heaven and earth came together.

I have long been enchanted by pond lilies. To my delight, I found them in full bloom on Mayer Lake in Haida Gwaii (Queen Charlotte Islands) off the northwest coast of Canada. I love the surreal mystery of the lilies' yellow blossoms contrasting with the dark blue water. 

I was so drawn to the dreamy quality of this white columbine bathed in soft light.

I love the way this double tulip was lit up by the sun. 

While at Isla Blanca, near Cancun in Mexico, I became totally enchanted with these round palm fronds. They form such exquisite designs when photographed close-up. 

I love the the way that earth and sky come together in this photo in a way that they cannot be separated. I took this image in Isla Blanca near Cancun in Mexico.

While at Isla Blanca, near Cancun, Mexico, I found myself completely captivated by these beautiful palm leaves. I love the ethereal feel of these fronds as they seem to melt into green.  

This Ponga tree frond also known as Silver tree fern,  is the quintessential symbol of New Zealand representing new life, growth, strength and peace. It is often found in Māori art, carving and tattoos. 

This photograph was taken in Aitutaki, one of the Cook Islands in the South Pacific. The island is not highly populated so its natural beauty is still very much intact. There were palm trees everywhere I looked. I was struck by the symmetry of this frond and its simplicity against the sky, which for me captured the essence of this beautiful island.   

As this Silver Fern frond unfolds, it reveals spirals within spirals until it has completely unfurled.  I was fascinated by this constant transformation.
