Spring had come to Ngoro Ngoro Crater, a National Park located near the Serengeti in Tanzania, Africa.  As we drove down into the crater, this elephant came into view.  Seeing  her surrounded in a carpet of yellow flowers was magical.

Whilst exploring Ngoro Ngoro National Park in Tanzania, I encountered this group of zebras who were as interested in me as I was of them!  

In Serengeti National Park in Tanzania, Africa, I spent a long time watching this majestic lioness up on the rocks. Only after I took the photo did I notice the lizard located just below her.

Nestled softly amongst the colourful spring flowers of Ngoro Ngoro Crater, a National Park in Tanzania, this young lion gazes at me with steady intensity ...... the true raw beauty of nature!

In Serengeti National Park, in Tanzania, while driving home one evening, I saw this pair of giraffes grazing intimately together in the acacia trees. It was a beautiful sight. 

I  loved the way this flamingo was silhouetted against the water lit by the setting sun, on the lagoon west of Isla Blanca,  near Cancun in Mexico. 

It is a joy to watch flamingoes in their constant relationship of coming together and apart. I took this photograph at the lagoon located on Isla Blanca, near Cancun, Mexico.  

At the lagoon to the west of Isla Blanca, Mexico, I was watching this green-legged egret for a long time when suddenly it took flight. It was a breathtakingly beautiful moment. 

This was my first puffin encounter at Elliston, Newfoundland in eastern Canada, where there is a huge puffin colony. To my delight this pair of puffins landed very close to me and I was able to take these close up images. 

Some years ago, these horned owls nested in the park across the street from where I live in Regina, Saskatchewan. Every time I went to visit them, there they were looking down from a high branch, basically conveying the message "we see you"!

You may not know it from this image, but this gannet was just one amongst the thousands and thousands noisily flying around the cliffs of Cape St Mary's Ecological Reserve in Newfoundland.

I was deeply moved when I came across this perfect family moment: a Canada goose, sheltering her goslings as night started to fall in Wascana Park, Regina, Saskatchewan. 

I visited a butterfly farm near Siem Reap in Cambodia. This butterfly landed just in front of me spreading her wings for moment before flitting off.

The closer you look the more you find! Ladybugs, though tiny, have such incredible presence especially when surrounded by luscious ferns. 

One of the delights of hiking in the Usambara Mountains in northern Tanzania, Africa, is seeing these well camouflaged chameleons. Our guide had  an incredible knack for noticing them and pointed them out to us as otherwise we would have most certainly missed them.  The most stunning part of this chameleon for me is its perfectly spiraled tail.  

Every day I wandered to the lagoon west of Isla Blanca, Mexico. I would never know what I was going to encounter. This particular day, I found this horse and young rider, going out in to the lagoon and back again repeatedly. It just loved watching them! 

While photographing the sunset on Isla Blanca in Mexico, this cat just walked into my image! Purrfect!

This  young tabby cat was perfectly poised in contemplation in a remote village in Northern Laos. 

This image was taken in front of Tow Hill on North Beach, Haida Gwaii, located off the coast northwestern British Columbia. The tide was an extraordinarily low that day revealing these lovely sea stars. I felt blessed to see them exposed.
